The Amount of Time That You Need

As we already told you, this cake is so easy to make and very perfect for every occasion. You need to spare two until 2,5 hours to prepare for the ingredients, batter, and frosting, 35 minutes to be cooked, 10 minutes to cool it down. So, 3 hours and 15 minutes to 12 servings of the most delicious cake ever!

You’ll Need These Ingredients

You’d better prepare for the ingredients before you jump into the next step.

  • For the cake, you’ll need flour, baking powder, sugar, cotton candy extract, milk, and food color
  • For the frosting, you’ll need egg whites, sugar, butter, and cotton candy extract.

Cake, Frost, and Assemble!

This cotton candy cake will consist of 3 layers and four different colors (blue, pink, purple, and green). You can change it to whatever colors that you want. First of all, you need to make a big bowl of batter by mixing the wet ingredients and dry ingredients. Turn your mixer onto medium speed and voila, the basic batter is ready.

The next step will be more exciting, split the batter into five different bowls. Drop the food color into the mixture. One-color for each bowl. Leave one bowl plain and mix them well. Let the batter rest while you prepare for the pan. By using the ice cream scoop, put the batter in the pan. One scoop of blue and then one scoop of pink then one scoop of purple and green. Make sure they don’t mix to one and another. Take a toothpick and put half of it inside the batter, move it in swirl pattern so you can see that the color is now forming the marble pattern. Now, it’s time to bake!

I know that you can’t wait to taste the cake, but you need to let it cool for 10 minutes. Take it out of the pan, and if you follow the step like what we exactly told you, you can have a layer of moist cake with a perfect marble pattern. Cut out the brown part with a knife, don’t throw it out. It’s an excellent snack to eat while making your cake.

A little tip for you here, try not to overmix the batter because the texture will be dense and have too many holes or tunnels. Second, be careful with the food color, if you hesitate, better use a toothpick to add the color to the batter.

Making the frosting is quite easy and need the same technique as the batter. After you make a big bowl of plain frosting, split it into five bowls, add food colors and leave one bowl plain.

To assemble the cake, you need to put a layer of cake in a flat area and make cake-plain frosting-cake-plain frosting-cake arrangement. Splat the colored frosting with a spatula and make a random color pattern. Smooth it out again, and then you can decorate it in any way that you want!
